I think the answer will probably be no, since few to none of my friends in this town share my weakness for mainstream chick flicks, but does anyone want to go see Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day or The Other Boleyn Girl with me?

Isn’t The Other Boleyn Girl supposed to be really good?

I don’t know, I think I only read one review of it. It depends on how you define “really good.” I was expecting yet another historically-inaccurate, sex-filled movie about the Tudors relying on the same old historical stereotypes (Anne Boleyn was a bitch, Henry a childish, egomaniacal killer of people who disappointed him) – but I enjoy that kind of thing, not that I wouldn’t enjoy an original take on Tudor history even more. There ought to be a movie about Thomas Cranmer.

I saw Miss Pettigrew last night. A much-appreciated friend offered to go see one of the two with me without even having seen this post!

But do *you* want to see The Other Boleyn Girl?

    I might be persuaded!

We talked about this a couple of weeks ago (in the car on the way home from Beaners) – I’m interested in going.
